Okay, so I've always thought that it would be handy if artists were both handed, simply because they might get into an accident and become unable of drawing anymore, due to something happening to their good hand.
Yes, I thought of that idea before, but I actually never had the chance to train my left hand to draw anything, while I draw with my right hand since I was two (or maybe even less?) years old. :)
Therefore, since I'm on my summer holidays till September, I just thought, why not try it now? And while I thought that it might look like a two-year-old drawing, guess what happened? It actually looked pretty decent. :D Sure, it wasn't anywhere near what my right hand would draw, I had to turn the page sometimes to get a batter angle (while I wouldn't have to move the page at all) and there was a lot of erasing involved, it still looked okay-ish.
But then I found out that I might be like my mam, 'cause she writes with her right hand, then sews with her left. And I got confused. :lmao:
But it still was a great experience and while I'll practise my drawing skills with my good hand, I'll do some with left one, in between some drawings.

Might be a good idea to try, since it trains your brain, you use it in new ways. And it relieves your right, so it should help avoid repetitive strain injury.

Although I'm not sure if you'd ever achieve the same dexterity as your primary hand. I'd like to see a comparison, the same pic drawn with one and the other hand. Maybe you'll even find out you're ambidextrous ;).
